Dallas/Fort Worth Golf Courses

Bear Creek

Bear Creek's two championship courses, the East course and the West course, were designed by by Ted Robinson and opened in 1980. Both courses have received several awards, including "Top 50 Resort Courses in America" by Golf Digest. Bear Creek is conventiently located near DFW International Airport.



Bridlewood

Bridlewood Golf Club was developed by PGA tour veteran D.A. Weibring and his associates at Golf Resources, Inc. Measuring 7,000 yards from the championship tees, the course tempts golfers with 25 acres of lakes and meandering Timber Creek; water is evident throughout the back nine. Bridlewood is located in Flower Mound, just minutes north of DFW International Airport.


Castle Hills

The Golf Club At Castle Hills features undulating terrain, hardwood trees, natural streams, lakes and wetland areas; an ideal setting for golf. Rather than alter the landscape to accommodate the golf course, Jay Morrish and Associates designed each hole taking full advantage of the natural topography. Whether playing form the Tour Tees or the Forward Tees, this course requires as much precision as it does power. Centrally located, the Golf Club at Castle Hills is easily accessible from throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.


Chase Oaks

One of the finest public facilities in the United States, Chase Oaks Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. Designed by architects Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, the club features two courses. The Blackjack course is a beautiful 18 hole championship layout that can be very demanding, especially from the back tees. In 1991, the Blackjack course was named the Best Public Course in Texas by the Dallas Morning News. The course is also annually ranked in the Top 10 North Texas Courses by PGA members. The Sawtooth course is 9 holes, with two different tee boxes for each hole.


Cowboys

Premiering as world-class championship golf course, Cowboys Golf Club raises the standards and expectations for high-end, daily fee golf in Texas. Designed by award-winning architect Jeff Brauer, this is a course that inspires a sense of awe in its majestic beauty and ingenious design.


Coyote Ridge

Coyote Ridge Golf Club, located in Carrollton, is just twenty minutes from either DFW Airport or from downtown Dallas. A challenging, scenic course, with superb practice and clubhouse facilities, it's the perfect place for social and business occasions. The front nine takes you across a wind-swept hill dotted with picturesque greens, well framed with water, sand, native grass bunkers - and beautiful vistas. The back nine is a tighter, totally different experience. It twists and turns and tumbles along an old Trinity River gravel quarry - now lavishly landscaped with natural grasses, blooming seasonal flowers and hundreds of oaks, pecans, and elms. Throught the heart of the back nine runs Coyote Creek, which twice crosses number ten, making it one of the most memorable holes of the back nine.


Doral Tesoro

Doral Tesoro exemplifies vision of maximizing the land's natural features while minimizing drastic changes to its topography. Nestled among the gently rolling hills of a former cattle ranch, Doral Tesoro will lead golfers through visually striking natural creeks, oak-lined fairways, distinctive rock outcroppings and dramatic changes in elevation. With five sets of tee boxes everyone can find the right challenge for their game. The course was designed by golf architect Jay Moorish. The course is located near the Texas Motor Speedway, the second largest sporting venue in the United States.


Fossil Creek

One of the last courses to be designed personally by the legendary Arnold Palmer, Fossil Creek opened in 1987. The course is one of the top-rated public courses in the state of Texas, with 7 of the holes nominated as some of the toughest golf holes in the DFW Metroplex. Fossil Creek will challenge golfers of every ability. Gorgeous rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. This exclusive par 72 public course winds its way through 1150 acres of natural Texas terrain.


Garden Valley

Garden Valley is widely recognized for outstanding golf. Garden Valley is home to two championship golf courses. The Dogwood course, designed by architect John Sanford is considered to be the highest-rated and most demanding of the two courses. With its rolling hills, lush azaleas, towering pines, and extensive bunkers, Garden Valley is often considered to be Texas's equivalent of Augusta National. Garden Valley is located just an hour east fo Dallas, and less than 20 miles from Tyler.


Iron Horse

This beautiful scenic and challenging 18-hole Dick Phelps-designed course has matured into one of Texas' best since opening in 1989. The layout traverses through a solid hardwood forest over meandering creeks and under a railroad trestle.

Iron Horse is considered a "thinker's course" by many because of its fantastic variety of holes which requires draws, fades, "boomers" and lay-up shots off the tees and strategic plays into undulating greens that are well bunkered.


Lantana

Nestled in the gently rolling hills of southern Denton County, Lantana is characterized by its unique architecture and breathtaking natural setting, inspired by the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Offering the service and atmosphere of a private country club, golfers of all levels will enjoy the challenge of Lantana's 18 hole daily-fee championship course. Designed by the world renowned team of Jay and Carter Morrish, Lantana's course maximizes the wooded terrain and natural beauty of the land, creating an unparalleled setting. The course is 7,100 yards long from the championship tee boxes.


Links at Land's End

The Links at Land's End was nominated as the "Best New Golf Course in America." The course located approximately 80 miles east of the DFW Metroplex on the Lake Fork Resevoir. The course was designed by the partnership of Williams, Gill, and Associates.


Mansfield National

Mansfield National, a $10 million project, is owned by a public/private venture between the City of Mansfield and Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited, which will manage the facility.

Designed by John Colligan of Colligan Golf in Arlington, the rolling, 225-acre site features 419 Bermuda fairways and Tiff dwarf Bermuda greens. From the back tees it plays 6,850 yards and from the forward tees, 5,263 yards


Pine Dunes

Pine Dunes Golf Course was designed by Jay Morrish. Jay Morrish designed the course keeping the natural beauty of the land in mind. Pine Dunes has a large variety of holes all designed with rolling fairways, pine trees, formal bunkers and challanging large greens.


Sky Creek

Sky Creek Ranch, one of North Texas' newest golf developments, was opened in August of 1999 and already has the look and feel of a tour quality layout and facility. Designed by nationally famous architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., son of one of the game's legendary architects, this par 72 public access course measures a very challenging 6,953 yards from the back tees. Covering 17,000 square feet and sitting on the highest point of land in Tarrant County, it offers majestic views of the course.


Texas Star

If it is Championship golf with Texas hospitality you are looking for, Texas Star Golf Course is the place. The Keith Foster design has the distinct honor of the "Best Golf Course" for the entire D/FW metroplex. The golf course was designed around Hurricane Creek, which meanders throughout the beautiful landscape of rolling hills, stacked rock ponds, waterfalls and natural woodlands. Texas Star spans nearly 7,000 yards and is a par 71, which guarantees to challenge golfers of every level. Conveniently located in Euless, only ten minutes from D/FW Airport, Texas Star provides golfers nationwide an opportunity to enjoy this Texas golf masterpiece.


The Tribute

Created by acclaimed architect Tripp Davis, the Scottish themed Tribute Golf Club on the shores of Lake Lewisville pays magnificent homage to the birthplace of golf and its rich traditions. The Club's spectacular par-72, 6,972 yard links-style course was designed with the influence of great holes from such renowned Scottish links as St. Andrews, Muirfield, Troon and Prestwick.


Tour 18

If you're visiting the DFW area and only have one opportunity to play golf, you should definitely consider playing Tour 18. When you play Tour 18, you have the opportunity to experience many of the famous holes you see on TV, such as Amen Corner, the Island hole at Sawgrass, and Doral's Blue Monster. From the moment you approach the gated entry to Tour 18, you'll know you've just arrived at someplace special. As you pass through the gates you can leave the rest of the world behind. You might want to leave your ego at the gate as well -- these aren't the most famous holes on the PGA Tour because they're easy. From this very special tract of land about 10 miles Northwest of the DFW International Airport, Dave Edsall has crafted a spectacular golf course.


TPC Las Colinas

Play the course the pros love to play. The Byron Nelson Classic is played here every year for one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour. It's a TPC Club designed for tournament play. Throughout the rest of the year it is meticulously cared for in preparation for the grand annual event. The course has some very interesting approaches that require working the ball from time to time to remain in reach of par.


Trails of Frisco

 

The Trails of Frisco, a premier semi-private golf club, features dramatic bunkering, scenic wetlands and large champion greens.  The new beautifully-designed clubhouse is scheduled to open in the fall of 2001 with a full-service golf shop, bar and grill, and banquet facilitites featuring breathtaking views of the course.
