Mississippi Golf
The state lies within the Gulf Coastal Plains, one of the principal natural resources of the southern United States. The Delta region covers the western section of Mississippi. Eastern Mississippi rises from sea level along the marshy Gulf coast to a high point of 246 miles at Woodall Mountain. There is a rolling strip of prairie land which is an extension of Alabama’s Black Belt. The rivers in the state drain into the Gulf of Mexico. Offshore is a series of low barriers islands, behind the islands and protected by them lies Mississippi Sound.
The state is rapidly becoming recognized as having a fine collection of affordable golf courses. The Magnolia Golf Trail is a network of 14 courses dedicated to educate golfers about the exceptional golf facilities in the state. Play your way around courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jerry Pate, etc. The Trail offers some of the Premier courses in The South. Many of the resort courses are new and in very good condition. Tee times and green fees are well worth the trip.
