Georgia Golf
The state plays an important role as unofficial capital of the South and a driving force in both finance and broadcasting. Georgians maintain the gentility of the Old South with the polished and sociable Savannah and its gorgeous antebellum town houses and squares draped with Spanish moss. Atlanta, a city of brash enthusiasm and genteel grace makes it both an exciting and comfortable place to visit. The 1996 Summer Olympics brought world wide attention to the city and launched Atlanta as a regional business center and transportation hub. Atlanta has many good golf courses including the Bobby Jones Municipal and Stone Mountain.
Spring in western Georgia offers 2,500 acres of green meadow, rolling hills, lakes, flowers and woodlands at Callaway Gardens. The Azalea Trails has 700 varieties of flowering shrubs and the glass enclosed Day Butterfly Center. Play golf at this wonderful resort and take time to see Warm Springs the famous mineral spring’s spa town.

Augusta, home of The Master’s Golf Tournament, comes alive in April and is the mecca for golfers the world over. The city has a park like Riverwalk on the banks of the Savannah River with a bevy of restaurants, pubs and specialty shops. Take time to visit the Victorian Cotton Exchange and the Morris Museum of art, either before or after a round of golf.
Spend a day or two in Atlanta visiting the CNN Center studios, The Coca-Cola Museum and Underground Atlanta. Either before or after spending time in Atlanta visit the Chateau Élan winery or play a round of golf. Drive through the mountains in northern Georgia and stay on the walkways when visiting the Okefenokee Swamp and be sure to take a boat tour of the swamp.
